Please be advised, what is below, is my personal opinion.
Backstory:
Iβm a Contract House Cleaner. The Agency I contract for, does not allow cleaners to meet with customers prior to cleans occurring.
We donβt know what a customer has until we arrive for the 1st clean, nor do we know the condition of the house.
As I travel by Public Transport, carry light cleaning items in my backpack.
Several months ago, I was allocated a job, and went to do it.
Upon arrival, the customer advised me she was upset with previous cleans and mine is the last chance for them.
I was shocked when she showed me the cleaning items:
1 cloth, very little spray, no mop, and a pathetic vacuum cleaner. I advised her, I canβt do a perfect job as the items are limited.
Completed the clean, best I could.
As expected, within 3 hours of me leaving, she cancelled all future cleans. When I wrote my post clean report, advised agency of my concerns.
Labour Day (Victoria) 2022, I did another new customer a favour by doing her clean. This cost me a taxi fare to the station as the bus had not commenced yet.
I saved this customer 1 hour, however, told me I had not met her High Expectations and will be cancelling.
I had tried my best, with what I had provided, even using some of my own items, however, not good enough.
I have had many other customers cancel after the 1st clean, because they expect too much.
Here is a question for you all:
When you start a new job, do you know everything and do everything perfectly, on day 1?
No.
It takes time to learn everything and get into a routine.
This is the same with Cleaning.
Cleaners are
NOT
Miracle workers.
We are Human, just like all of you are.

Please remember we all need to learn new skills, and/or get into a routine.
Recently, I changed my routine with a customer and was happy with the result, because I was able to do extra for them, which they appreciated and I have now saved them money too.
If anyone reading this decides to engage a regular cleaner, please allow them at least 4 cleans to both get into a routine and bring your house up to scratch.
Although I do advise, seeking a cleaning business, which specialises in Vacant, Deep Cleans, as this will assist your regular cleaner.
Iβm trying to establish my DC Business, which will be LGBTIQA+ Employed.
What I suggest to those who wish to engage our services, vacate their home for several days and place everything in storage, but during this time, go through all their belongings and do a clean out, so they return to their home, not only will it be freshly cleaned, but also have less baggage.
Honestly, whilst the house is vacated, I suggest getting repairs done too, again, you will return to an almost brand new home.
Anyway, I digress.
This post is to educate you about others and to hopefully open your eyes, ears and hearts too.
By giving people a chance, you never know what they will achieve.
If you set High Expectations of them, you better be able to better or exceed the other persons skills, because that is what Iβm doing with people now.

If you canβt, or wonβt, do the job, then butt out.
The past couple of years have been terrible, with many people, including me, suffering Mental Illness, therefore, I suggest being nicer to everyone.
KARMA CAN BE CRUEL.
