Disclaimer: As usual, what is written below is my own personal opinion, and may vary from yours. It doesn’t mean to say that either is correct or incorrect, that’s what makes us all Humans.
For many years, I have accepted people on their word, who then let me down and say, they didn’t say what I repeat back to them.
In 2019, I attended a weekly session which helped me realise many things.
1 of those things was, having Written Agreements.
I’m talking WSA’s for almost everything:
And everything in between.
You might think, or assume, I don’t trust anybody,
You are correct.
I don’t trust someone’s spoken word anymore, therefore always demand Written, Signed Agreements, which must be Legal too.
Even when legal, I’m still cautious, because many people will try to wriggle their way out
I always have at least 20 copies to sign by each party concerned, then those copies are equally divided amongst each, so each copy becomes an original.
I have 1 laminated, another scanned into a computer and emailed to several trusted people, a couple are given to my Legal team.
Of course, the above depends on how many parties are involved and how many copies are divided up.
Another thing, if I’m going to meet someone for the first time, I will write a written agreement, which I will sign in front of the person/people in attendance.
