As a former Bus Driver and Train Cleaner, I have first hand knowledge and advice.
Most public transport services operate late,
BECAUSE OF
Selfish, Impatient
People.
Recently I was on a bus, when someone flagged the driver down.
The person was outside the bus stop.
The driver had to wait at the next stop for this person

Here’s some examples:
Once I was driving a bus and a male stepped onto the bus, but kept a leg outside.
This person demanded I wait for his friends.
I was already operating late due to heavy traffic.
These males took almost 10 minutes to board the bus.
Each had hot food and sat down to eat but then throw the food around the bus.
None of them paid either.
Lucky I was approaching the nearest Police Station.
Upon arrival I loudly sounded my horn until several officers came out.
I told them what happened.
My passengers backed me up.
These males were ordered to clean up their mess then alight.
I provided my information to the Police.
I contacted the radio room to advise.
The next bus was behind me, so I transferred my passengers to the service, then ran special back to the depot.
I never heard anything back from the Police.
Recently, I was on a tram, when someone stood half on, half off.
These people then stood in the doorway which made it hard for others to alight or board.
My advice to all Public Transport Users:
When boarding, touch on your pass then find a seat and sit down.
Keep any personal belongings close to you and out of passageways.
If someone boards, who is frail, disabled or with a pram, please offer them your seat.
When alighting, press the
“Next Stop” button as the vehicle departs the previous stop.
Grab your belongings, touch off, then prepare to alight quickly.
Please remember to hold on at all times, and behave whilst travelling.
